Hi Jan

The parish of Warton is one of my main parishes. I have the PRs for this parish
available so probably have information that would help.
You mention James born in 1762. His baptism is not in the PRs, so I don't know
your source or his mother's name. The only possible marriage in Warton that could
be the father is:-

Marriage: 31 Jul 1753 St Oswald, Warton Nr Lancaster, Lancashire, England
John NICHOLSON - sojourner in Carnforth, lately of East-Witton in ye county of York
Mary WETHERALL - sojourners in Carnforth, lately of Kirkby Stephen in ye county of
Westmorland
Married: by Banns
Source: Film 1849662, IGI - M005541

Which suggest it may not be the John born 1721 who is the father.
I presume you believe the father John to be:-

Christening: 23 Apr 1721 St Oswald, Warton Nr Lancaster, Lancashire, England
John NICHOLSON - Son of Richard NICHOLSON & Ann
Abode: Carnforth
Occupation: ?
Source: Film 1849662, IGI - P005541

Yet there is an entry in the burial register which may also eliminate this John:-

Burial: 3 May 1729 St Oswald, Warton Nr Lancaster, Lancashire, England
John NICHOLSON -
Parents: son of Richd NICHOLSON & Anne
Source: Film 1849662

James' wife was indeed Fanny WESTERN:-

Christening: 7 Jan 1770 St Oswald, Warton Nr Lancaster, Lancashire, England
Fanny WESTERN - Daughter of Joseph WESTERN & Mary [FAUCIT]
Born: 9 Dec 1769
Abode: Yealand Redmayne
Notes: [married 14 Jun 1790 - James NICHOLSON]
Notes: [buried 25 May 1837]
Source: Film 1849662, IGI - P005541

There is probably much other infromation I may be able to supply on these families.
If you have specific questions, please feel free to ask.

Regards, Paul Dixon
Carrollton, Texas
