Hi Curt
Lancashire has several large areas which are either called a Borough or a
City. Here they are,
Blackburn with Darwin, Blackpool, Burnley, Chorley, Fylde, Hyndburn,
Lancaster, Pendle, Preston, Ribble Valley, Rossendale, South Ribble, West
Lancashire and Wyre.
If you want to know which towns or villages are in each Borough etc then I
suggest you look at the Council site for each area. The format for web
address for each area would be the same www.(borough).gov.uk For example
www.blackburn.gov.uk you will be directed to the site. From there you will
be able to find a range of information about the Borough. I have found it
particularly useful to go the sections about the local councillors who serve
in electoral wards - this usually gives a good insight to some of the
existing townships and quite often the names haven't been changed over the
years.
