I have just obtain 1841 and 1871 for Durham and awaiting 1851 and 1861 which
are due out later this month. All are from Stepping Stones and I would
highly rate them. They are indexed and within 24 hours I had taken a branch
of my family back a further 10 years and proven a link to another researcher
proving he is a cousin.

I will be purchasing the Lancs CD's in the next few months.

Stepping Stones have my vote for both quality and price!

How do the two CDs compare, do you know?(apart from the price difference)
Are they both indexed and if so how? (by name or street)

For those of us who do not have the luxury of consulting the 1851 census on
microfilm, this is to let you know that S&N Genealogy has just informed me
that they are ready to ship copies of the census books very shortly for
£49.95 each. Alternatively, you can wait a few weeks and obtain the copy
from Steeping Stones who say their price is £29. Both of these prices are
pre-release prices which they say will go up once the CD's are released.
You pays your money and takes your choice!
