Have you tried the LDS Centre at Chorley? They are excellent, very helpful
and will do their best to find who you are looking for. I can't think of a
centre nearer to you. There is the Central Library in Manchester as you will
know.
The Churches open in 1833 in Bolton (C of E) would be St George which opened
in 1801, St Peters which have records back to 1573 and Holy Trinity which have
records back to 1642. There would have been other religious denominations
open. There was Deane Parish Church too.
