Sorry, Peter, no help from me on this, just a question for the list.

Two questions -
1. What information/details would the 1938 electoral roll give?
2. How are they organised? Do you need to know the address or are they
alphabetised for an area. If the latter, how big an area would be covered
by an alphabetised list? {For those keeping track, these last two I
consider supplementary to question number 2, so I maintain that I have only
asked 2 questions :-). }

I am looking for my long lost grandfather, John William PRESCOTT, who
disappeared about 1906, supposedly having gone to the States. There is a
story that someone saw him in Liverpool in 1938 at his mother's funeral. I
wondered if these rolls might help.
