Hello listers,

With the list's very kind help we found John WOOD (age 49 widowed,
farmer, birthplace Trawden) in the 1851 Census in Winewall.

We're hoping now to go back to the 1841 census, probably in Winewall,
but also possibly in Trawden -- in the 1851 the children's birthplaces
were given as Trawden .

The following are likely children, all to John and Sarah WOOD of
Winewall, John's occupation, weaver. Some might have been living in
their own households in 1841.

Henry bap 22 Apr 1821 (age 1841 : ~ 20)
William bap 18 Aug 1822 (age 1841 : ~ 19)
Richard bap 28 Aug1825 (age 1841 : ~ 16)
James bap 25 Dec 1831 (age 1841 : ~ 10; based on 1851 would have been 8)
possibly a second James born after this?
Sarah bap 2 Aug 1835 (age 1841: ~ 6)
Margaret born 14 Dec 1836; bap 29 Jun 1837 (age 1841: ~ 4)

A second WOOD family in Winewall -- Richard and Betty WOOD -- is also
very likely related and of interest. Betty was 63 (or 65) in 1851,
widowed, born in Trawden.

Many thanks in advance,

Katrina
