Hi Jean in Tacoma

You referred in your message to:

"my 2nd Great Granduncle William Watson, who died
16 Dec 1867 in Rochdale. His wife was Isabella Hodgison."

Your names/dates/place are so close to my own current interests that I must
speak up immediately.

I am currently researching the WATSON name in Walton le dale in the
early/mid nineteenth century, and a relative in Victoria, British Columbia
(not on Lancsgen) and I have a sort of division of effort in progress over
this and other names there and (mostly) Preston.

My interest is in the William WATSON who married Mary HINDLE in February
1809, and had these children - George, Mary, Ann?, John, William and
Elizabeth.

My relative is currently scanning the PRs of St Leonard's, Walton le dale,
at her local LDS Library, and is logging all the occurrences of WATSON
there. Just the other day she told me of the marriage of William and
Isabella in 1809, and the birth of their son James in 1813.

Is there anything, do you think, to link your William WATSON line with mine?
I'm conscious, of course, that WATSON was a quite common name in those
parts, but I have to ask the question!

I shall be very interested to have your views.

Yes, this list is a busy place, and one of the best!

I look forward to hearing from you.

Regards

Ron
