'Scouse' or 'lobscouse' is a sort of stew made of meat and potatoes and root
vegetables, very popular in Lancashire. (It's delicious!) Blind scouse used
to be what you made if you were too poor to afford meat.

Some say it was originally a shipboard concoction including ship's biscuit.

Eminently suitable to be eaten by people from the port of Liverpool. Hence
'scousers'.
