Yes, wea is weaver. Why so far from home? Who knows, but they were both
strays from other parts. That family is the only Stretch in the Leigh
registers 1701-1753. Interesting that the marriage was by licence from
Warrington. Maybe that is pointing you in the right direction (or totally
misleading you along a garden path).
