Twelve OLD pennies equalled one OLD shilling.

You are trying to convert new pence - 25 of them - back to the
pre-decimalisation currency. It doesn't work.

25s in old currency can be written as £1 5s 0d in pre-decimalisation
style or as £1.25 in post-decimalisation style.

£1 2s 1d doesn't come into it. Read the other posts from John
