I must correct my thinking. On searching Google I came across more info that
might put your Benjamin in a different faith. See the following. I know this
chap is not your Benjamin, he is from an earlier date. But might give you
something to think about.

The Old Manse Hotel, was built for the Baptist minister Benjamin Beddome in
1748 as a reward from the locals so that he would not be tempted away to
work in London or Bristol. The hotel is literally on the banks of the River
Windrush in Victoria St, Bourton-On-The-Water. Gloucestershire
