If a flash drive is the same as a seperate hard drive, then you need to put the family tree maker programme on before you can transfer your tree.
I can only offer you my own experience!
Hope it helps,
Anne

Hi all: does anyone know how to back up a FTM to a flash drive. For the past couple of days I have been trying to back up to a flash drive and I keep getting an error message that says FTM cannot back up to a flash drive. Has anyone had this problem and solved it and would you be so kind as to share it with us who haven't the know how on that one. I much prefer the flash drive to a CD and sure would hate to lose all my FTM.
