Back to the list again researching my STAFFORDS which hop from Lancashire, Cheshire, Derbyshire. So my question relates to this

I have a ancestor born 1824/5.
On the 1841 census taken at Haughton/denton lancashire, where he says no to not being born in this county.

I find him on the 1851 census saying he was born at Staleybridge was this in Cheshire at the time of his birth?

if there was a change of district when were they altered?
