I have a transcription of a Rufford parish record for a marriage in 1742. The groom is "James Mawdesley, Boschoe ba." and the bride is "Ann Culshaw Hwd. spr."
I presume the ba. means bachelor and the spr.is short for spinster. The Hwd. could be Harwood, Halewood, Heywood, or Hollingwood. But the word "Boschoe" has me stumped. Does anyone have a clue?
