Hello Maxine, I have seen many Rev. Tidence Lane inquiries, however, none
seem to match up with our Lane's for one simple reason. We can't find our
Lane connection past the current Lane's that I already have listed here.
Hopefully some day we will be able to find our kinfolk. This is a LANE site,
but since the original post of Davis led to Moses and Lane's I will repost
my
Lane/Davis information and maybe you can take a look. Good luck, the future
may bring both of us some of answers.
Donna Walters

I am researching the following Lane's.Surname: LANE, JAMES, DAVIS, DOYLE,
CRAWFORD, BARNETT, MOORE, TURNER, SMITH, MEADOWS, BLAYLOCK, HUNTER, RITTER,
MEDLOCK, FORD, WALTERS, SUMNER, CREEKMORE, MOSES, SARTIN, AND MANY MORE.

I am trying to find the ancestors of my grandfather,William Henry McKinley
Lane of Keota, OK., although he was born in Mulberry, Arkansas on 1-28-1901
and died 1-19-1966 and is buried in Iron Bridge Cemetery in Keota, OK. His
parents were:
Thomas J. Lane & Sallie (James) Lane. She was from somewhere in Kansas.
Thomas d.o.b. 1830 in Tennessee according to census and buried at Star
Cemetery in Keota, OK. We can't get any further back than Thomas J. Lane.
We haven't any idea what happened to his wife Sallie James Lane, if she
remarried, or went back to Kansas or died in the Keota, OK area also. Still
a
mystery. I have been told that Sallie James was a cousin to Jesse James the
outlaw from Kansas/Missouri.

Thomas' son, George Washington Lane's death certificate states that George
W.
was born in TN. his wife, was Martha Elizabeth (Doyle) Lane. Some of his
other siblings were born in Arkansas. George was actually born 2-09-1859 in
Tennessee and he died in Keota, Ok. on 3-05-1920. Also on his death
certificate the doctor filled his last name out as "Laine", instead of Lane
so this has caused problems for some doing research.

Thomas J. & Sallie (James) Lane had the following children:
#1 Margarette Jane married David B. Blaylock. Their descendants live in the
Quinton, OK. area. They are 1-Myrtle & Ellis Moore 1885, 2-Matilda "Hilda"
1886 3-David L. Lane late 1886 4-Ada S. Lane 1888 5-Winnie L. 1889 6-Lemuel
T. 1891 7-John H. & Dally 1898.
#2 Lee Lane never married
#3 Sophia died young of typhoid fever
#4 Jasper Lane died young typhoid fever
#5 Mariah Lane Hunter
#6 George Washington Lane & Elizabeth Martha Doyle (my great grandfather.)
George & Martha Elizabeth Lane's children are:
#1 Walter died at birth
#2 Alice died at 1 month
#3 Charlie died at age 7
#4 Laura Lane Crawford,1883, burned to death age 22, leaving behind Faye
Crawford,Compellebee,Davis (Kin also)
#5 George Franklin 1884 in Rudy, Arkansas wife Bessie Lee Short
#6 Ida Jane Lane Turner 1886 born
#7 Sallie Lane, Smith,Meadows
#8 Myrtle Lee "Johnnie" Barnett 1898
#9 William Henry Mckinley Lane 1901 (MY DAVIS LINE BEGINS HERE WITH DORTHY
DAVIS, DAUGHTER OF LEVI & HOLLY SUMNER DAVIS, SON OF ELIJAH L. DAVIS & NANCY
CREEKMORE.
#10 Susie Lane,Davis 1904 (MARRIED OUR DAVIS LINE ALSO.)
#11 Robert Lee Lane 1906
If there is anyone related to any of these people feel free to contact me,
Donna Sue Walters, or email me at or 405-799-7727 fax &
phone.
