My records show that George Eurid Lantz Jr. was born in Rockingham county
Va. in 1810. He married Charlotte ( last name unknown ) But I do know that
she was born in 1809 in Barbour county Va. now Wv. His parents were George
Eurid Lantz and Mary Frances ( Woodford ) Lantz. George Eurid Lantz Sr. was
the son of Hans George Lantz#2 and Maria Margaretha ( Benderin ) Lantz. He
was born in Shenandoah county Va. in 1776 and died in Barbour county Wv. in
1850. He married Mary ( Polly ) Frances Woodford in Rockingham county Va. on
May 27, 1795. Mary was the daughter of William & Frances ( Howe ) Woodford.
Mary ( Polly ) was born in Shenandoah county Va. in 1776, and died in Lewis
county Wv. July 11, 1854.
Hans George Lantz # 2 was born near Speyer Bavaria Germany in 1725 and died
in Shenandoah county Va. in 1793 Hans George Lantz # 2 came to this country
with his Father Hans George Lantz # 1 and his Mother Catherine ( last name
unknown ). They sailed from Holland on the ship "Two Brothers" and settled
in Germantown Pa. He married Maria in St. Michael's Evangelical Church at
Germantown Dec. 12, 1752. The record is in German and states that Hans
George Lantz being a single young man in good standing living in the house
of Wilhelm Wagner married this day, Maria Margaretha Benderin, a young
woman, single and of the reformed religion, having worked her indenture to
Richard Wahl of Whitemarsh, was free to marry. Maria had come to this
Country with her Mother, Maria Johanna Benderin, a widow and two sisters.
They arrived the same year that the Lantz family did.Hope this helps, Yours
