Hi everyone:
As I stated the other day, Robert Huyghe was my gg granduncle on
my Mother's side of the family.
Now on my Father's side of the family, there is also a New
Orleans connection via my gg grenduncle James S. Livingston. James
was one of the 13 children born to Am Revolution soldier and Rev.
George livingston Jr. and wife Susannah Ennis of Worcester Co., MD.
James and three of his brothers (along with a few family friends) left
Worcester Co. and migrated to Baltimore City, MD between the years of
1830 and 1840. My own gg grandfather Francis Livingston was on of
these four brothers who migrated to Baltimore. James and wife
Angelina Dobbins eventually left Baltimore and moved to Washington,
DC, where both are buried in Congressional Cemetary. Now let's look
at some of Jame's descendants:
1. James S. Livingston, b Oct 11, 1803 Worcester Co., MD, d Nov. 16,
1887
Washington, DC.
+m Oct 13, 1831 Baltimore, MD
Angelina Dobbins, b March 1, 1812 Baltimore, MD, d March 18,
1871 Washington, DC
2. Mary Jane Livingston, b June 27, 1834 Baltimore, MD, d Nov. 30,
1904
+m April 1, 1852 in Caroline Co., VA
Edwin Dorsey Doniphan/Donaphin, b 1832, d Oct 15, 1885.
3. Edwin C. Doniphan/Donaphin, b Aug 9, 1864, d Dec 22, 1907
+m Aug 29, 1893
Ida Wilson Gibson, b May 31, 1872
4. Emma Doniphan/Donaphin, b Sept. 19, 1896, Living in New
Orleans,
LA as late as 1931 when her DAR Membership Application
was approved.
+m Oct. 27, 1915
Walter Hughes Keen, Sr., b Oct. 3, 1879.
5. Walter Hughes Keen, Jr., b Feb. 11, 1917 in New Orleans,
LA
And this is where I lose track of this line of the family....
Please note that in order to simplify the above descendancy I have NOT
listed any of the siblings in each of the five generations.... I do
have subling information.. Edwin Dorsey Doniphan/Donaphin and wife
Mary Jane Livingston were also buried in Congressional Cemetary in
Washington, DC. They, along with Mary Jane's sister Elizabeth Ann
Livingston and her husband Eppa Norris, Sr. and Mary and Elizabeth's
parents James S. Livingston and Angelina Dobbins are now all buried by
each other in a group of plots purchased by descendant Helen Doniphan,
who herself has been buried there as well...
Does anyone out there know anything on the fate/descendants of
these Doniphan/Donaphin - Keen's in New Orleans.. ?? Anything
greatly appreciated.... 8-)
Joe
