My Irish New Orleans family came from County Meath Ireland. I found them in
Cleveland Ohio in the 1850's, they moved to New Orleans in the 1860's and
I've also wondered why. Their names were John and Marie Dune Connell. Their
daughter Catherine Connell took a job as a maid at the plantation home of
the Arnoult family called Tchoulipatolos
(my spelling may be a little off there on the home name). They were very
poor. One of the Arnoult son's --Christian took an interest in Catherine and
married her. If anyone else out there is looking up these same families I'd
be interested in what you have and happy to share what I have!
