Subject: [LAORLEAN-L] BOPP look up in City Directory?
Date: Thu, 11 Nov 1999 18:43:08 -0600

Friends,

I am not near New Orleans or any copy of the New Orleans City Directories.

Is there somebody who would be good enough to look in a city directory from
the 1920's for a family with the surname of BOPP that lived on Philip Street?

Or in a city directory around the year 1940 for a BOPP family that was
either on Berto Street, Boudreaux Street or Magazine Street?

I do not know the first name of the family, nor anything else that would be
recorded in the directory. But I wouldn't think there would be very many
BOPPs listed.

I would like to know something about the particular BOPP family that lived
at the above addresses/years.

About all I know about this BOPP family is that in April of 1940, Mrs. BOPP
took in my grandmother and three of her children after her husband died,
saving them from homelessness. They lived with her for about six months,
until they could get back on their feet.

I'd appreciate any information that you could find in that directory. I
don't even know this good woman's first name.
