This is my first posting.

I need guidance on where to start searching for information on the
Battle of New Orleans - not particularly the battle itself - but
information on Andrew Jackson and the friends who came from
Tennessee and fought with him at the Battle. Family history states
that my great-great-great grandfather, Henry Phenix, was a friend of
Andrew Jackson and fought with him at the Battle. Henry named his
youngest son Andrew Jackson Phenix.

Where is the best place for me to start? Is there some localized
location that would have this information, or would it be best for
me to go to the Library here in Dallas and search all books that
have information on Andrew Jackson and the Battle, hoping I might
find Henry Phenix mentioned?

Thanks for any help.
