Hi everyone,

I recently found some of my relatives on the 1880 NO city directory
that Colleen has put on the FTP site and have a query.

There is an entry for -

Brownlee John, Wid., occupation - Roberts & Co., address - r. 358 S.
Rampart

I believe this is actually Mrs John Brownlee, widow whose husband died
in 1860. I know that they had a business which I believe was involved
with timber milling. Two of her sons are also in the directory -

Brownlee James W., address - r. 358 S. Rampart
Brownlee John H., address - r. 348 S. Rampart (note no occupation
listed for either)

The query - does anyone know anything about the company Roberts & Co.
or how I could find out? I believe they eventually sold the business
to the person who was managing it. Also what sort of area was S.
Rampart?
