Thanks to all who answered my plea for the URL for NO FTP sites! Now I
have another question: is there a way to find out if there might have
been an obituary printed for my great-grandparents who were killed in
the "Great Cyclone" in St. Louis, in May of 1896? He was from New
Orleans and had family there. There are no records in St. Louis, but
family members might have sent an obituary to New Orleans for the family
there. Thomas and Rosa O'Brien left seven orphaned children. He was
the son of Irish immigrants to New Orleans, born 1850, and my
grandfather's death certificate says he was also born in New Orleans in
1880. (Also Thomas) Thomas was a railroad engineer between New Orleans
and St. Louis in 1876. Thanks for any help!
