Hello, New Orleans

RE: Jules B. PESQUIE b. abt 1869, NOLA d. 1923, NOLA, married Madeline
LORENZEN. Children: Alfred Lawrence PESQUIE m DREUIL, May PESQUIE m.
ANTOINE, and Helen PESQUIE m. McCASLAND.

I'm still working on this Orleans Parish PESQUIE line for a co-worker. You
all were so helpful to me in February when I was looking for ANYTHING, and
had only one name and a cemetery.

I am now looking for information on Jules B. Pescay married Madeline
Lorenzen. He was born abt 1869, and died 1923 and was buried at Greenwood
Cemetery, New Orleans, LA. I am awaiting an answer to my mail from the
Archdiocese of NO regarding the Requiem Mass which was held at St. Joseph's
Church. Perhaps this will identify his parents?

In his obituary an invitation to the funeral is extended to members of the
U.A.O.D., Elwin Grove (the type on the word "Elwin" is very unclear). I
would like to ask the list if anyone knows what U.A.O.D. might stand for.

Also, what is the current status of Greenwood Cemetery? The USGNIS mapping
service places it in New Orleans East. Does anyone have an address?

In the 1920 Soards' City Directory for NO, Jules B. Pescay is listed as
employed by "Schroth & Pesquie." Can anyone identify this company or tell
me where I might learn where and what it was? I suppose the company itself
would be listed in the City Directory, or did the directories contain only
names of households?

I paid the New Orleans Public Library dearly for 10 City Directory look-ups.
Are these directories available in any other location? (I live in Virginia)

I hope this is not too many questions. I have a lot more, and am working on
answering them, but I know how much time and effort I was saved earlier by
asking this list, and I thank you in advance for any help you can provide.
