To any new members of this list:
If you are interested in a wonderful walk down memory lane, I highly
recommend going to the List Archives at the above address and checking out
June 2000. Since I am fairly new to this list, I started out looking to see
what type of discussions had taken place in the pass and spent a wonderful
time when I got to June 2000. Some of the things mentioned were Aubin Park
and City Park---Flying Horses---School picnics---Monkey Hill---Pontchartrain
Beach--Hot tamales from the vendors on street corners----D. H. Holmes under
the clock---pedal boats at City Park---CYO dances.
I understand that some also thought that this topic of discussions went on
too long and I don't want to start anything now. I do want to say that by
reading all of the memories listed by others yesterday, it helped me to
remember my wonderful time growing up in New Orleans. I want my genealogy to
be more than just names and dates---I want it to be alive for those that do
read it someday. Thank you to all that contributed to that topic.
Enjoy,
Emily Variani
