Carolyn,

Is the hard copy you refer to an index? What happens
in a lot of indexes is that only the Head of
Household is indexed, along with anyone at the
beginning of a new page, which usually has the surname
repeated. In your situation, Frank, as the head of
household is indexed. W. L., age 3, is also indexed
since he was at the top of the next page.

The names appear to me to be:
Wharton, Frank 26, M, W, Farmer, 500, Louisiana
-------, M. L., 22, F, W, Keeping House, Arkansas
-------, G. S., 4, M, W, Texas
Wharton, W. L., 3, M, W, Texas
-------, B. L., 3/12, M. W, Louisiana (born in
April)

If the hard copy you checked is supposed to be an
every name transcription or index, it was done badly.

Norm
