The SOS has a site which gives an online listing of Passenger Lists Jan. -
July, 1851.

Nothing about Naturalization, but thought you might find it interesting to
look at.
I had a VERY hard time getting the text file to open (it would get halfway
there and then just start over!), So, it's probably a better bet to
download the zip file.

PS - I saw 4 SPELMANS (different spelling), none of whom were apparently
related, but thought you might want to take a look anyway.
