HI Duane,

Don't konw if anyone hs answered your question about naturalizations, but the
only place that I know of to find them is at the LA Division of the library.
They have microfilm of the abstracts of the naturalizations. Each card on
the microfilm tells the person's name, age, witnesses at the naturalization, but
most importantly gives the court and date the naturalization occurred. The
library has the microfilms of all the court records, which you can then use to
find the actual certificate. Don't forget that prior to naturalization, there
was a step where someone filed his declaration of intent, maybe two years
earlier. If you find the court proceeding, chances are it will mention where the
declaration of intent occurred - the court and the date. Sometimes the d of
i gives more info, sometimes it is the same as on the naturalization papers.
Sometimes you can find the name of the ship or the date the person came into
the US, too. The info varies from record to record somewhat.
