Tami,
I looked at the original 1851 city directory entry for
M. Weisheimer [note correct spelling]. The entry says
"Weisheimer M, c. h, c Enghien and Victory." (Ancestry
incorrectly transcribed it.)
The "c. h" stands for coffee house, the kind of
business M. Weisheimer operated at the "c" [corner of]
Enghein [the correct spelling] and Victory. As has
been pointed out, Enghein (in that location) is now
Franklin and Victory is now Decatur. A coffee house
then was more like a corner bar/restaurant, rather
than what we think of as a coffee house today. The
street name of Enghein was pronounced en-JINE.
