I second what Colleen said. Great way to spend a Saturday. I use the one on Santa Monica Blvd. in West
Los Angeles. They have quite a few microfilms related to New Orleans, including
death records, marriages, and some notarial records. I would say they have about a hundred
microfilm readers with hookups for your laptop and 5 microfilm copiers. There's a section with maybe 30 computers that you can use to do internet research and check their online film catalog. Then there are microfiche readers as well.

They also have bookcases of all kinds of genealogy books, including 2 bookcases Louisiana related books, which includes the entire collection of New Orleans Genesis publications. They even conduct free classes on researching various ethnic groups. Everyone there is pretty knowledgeable and friendly. You can order microfilms from Salt Lake as well.

I love that place.
