Thank you to all that responded about Ancestry.com.
I learned alot. I did subscribe to Godfrey Memorial.....looks good. Thank
you W. David
Isabel reminded me that I had no idea about what my local library could
offer. Ancestry Plus at the library would be great. Does anyone know what
is offered at the Jefferson Library on West Napoleon? I really need to go
there and get a lesson in what is available. It has been a long time since
I went there, and honestly, I roamed around and had no idea what it could
offer.
What are some other ideas online? I am always looking for that elusive
grandfather, Felix Layus from France. Another area I need to look into is
Nova Scotia. My ggggrandfather came to Nova Scotia from England as a
physician in the army and then came to the USA. I have long hunted a source
for English soldiers in Nova Scotia.
So much to do, so little time.
I have so much work to do........but, of course the limited hospital care
for patients in New Orleans is now keeping me at work longer and longer
hours. So, if any of you live here in New Orleans.......take care of
yourself.....stay well and avoid the hassle of NO BEDS IN LOCAL HOSPITALS.
Thanks again,
Karen Layus
