I have been researching my records, which for the most part have been provided
me by other descendants. I have copies of some marriage records from Quchita
Parish by grooms names. These records show: F.M. Sheppard to Mary A.E.
Butler May 4, 1857 (this one because of dates is definitely not in my line).
Frances Sheppard (my gg grandfather) to Elizabeth McGrew April 3, 1852.
Francis Sheppard to Mrs. Ananda Vickers April 2, 1856 (my great-grandmother,
Flora, was born March 10, 1857, so I believe Amanda Vickers was her mother).
By the 1860 Census Amanda was no longer there, so I am assuming she died?
Lastly, I have Francis M. Sheppard married Mrs. Lucinda A. Miller July
31, 1863. On the records I was sent on one of the group sheet, it indeed
lists Lucinda Miller as Francis' third wife, married
July 31, 1863. So I assume Francis Sheppard's middle name was Marion. I
have one other group sheet in this family that shows a child named "Marion",
so it was a name that the family used. On my records, it says Francis died
in 1863, so he died sometime after July 31st. I have his birth date as
1818 in Georgia. I cannot find where he was buried. If you believe this
is your family, I will send you what other information I have. SDH
