Is the John Perkins you are looking for by any chance Afro American? If he is, it`s possible he is buried in the Cosper Cemetery located just off Hwy 139 in Monroe, La. There is a tombstone for John Perkins, died 10 Feb 1917, age 70. The 1880 Census of Ouachita Parish, La., shows him with a wife named Caroline. Ten children named: Eliza, Joshua, Grant, Emily, Sarah, Alex, Upsie, Emma, Marriah, and Becky.
