Rev. Autrey was born on Aug. 24, 1929 in Pineville, La. Jarry surrendered to
preach the gospel and was ordained at the age of 15. He was a 1947 graduate
of Oauchita Parish High School of West Monroe, La. After attending Louisiana
College for two and a half years, he graduated from Baylor University in
1953. He also attended Southwestern Baptist Theological Seminary in Fort
Worth. In 1989, he retired after 45 years of ministry in pastoral care and
evangelism. Rev. Autrey pastored churches in Louisiana, Arkansas, Tennessee
and Texas. He also preached over 300 local church revivals and traveled
abroad preaching extensively in 38 foreign countries. In his retirement, he
enjoyed preaching, teaching and his lifelong love for the game of golf. For
the past five years, he had served as a starter/marshall at the Four Seasons
Resort and Club of Los Colinas, home of the Byron Nelson Classic.

Survivors: His wife, Betty Hinton Autrey of the home; brother, Richard
Carroll Autrey of Baton Rouge, La.; sons, Denny Autrey and wife, Angela of
Lindale and Randy Autrey and wife, Melanie of Carrollton; daughter, Jill
Autrey Dorman and husband, Bob of Flower Mound; grandchildren, Amber, Julie
and Haley Autrey of Lindale, Aaron and Micah of Carrollton and Shauna and
Allison Dorman of Flower Mound.
