Do you have any information on a Sheriff of Pineville, La. abt. 1915. My
ggrandfather Joseph (Joe) DeSoto was a policeman in 1915 and was involved in
the shoot out with a Mr. Tom David. Joseph DeSoto was shot in the leg by Mr.
David. I was told that the sheriff who was a relation to Mr. David, shot Mr.
Tom David. Mr. Tom David told anyone who was around that he would shoot
them if they tried to assist him. His request was that the sheriff (his
kin) attend to him. He was said to have died there on the spot. I would
like to find record of this event. Any help would be appreciated and
treasured.
