Mr. and Mrs. Jim Bruce owned Shady Nook. Mrs. Bruce was a Meuse before they
married and had a single sister who lived with them at Shady Nook. The
sister's name was Doris Meuse. She became a teacher in Alexandria, La. Mrs.
Bruce died of breast cancer. Mr. Bruce was Police Jurorer for our area. I
don't know where they came from originally. If my husband were home he
probably could tell us.
