Can anyone tell me about a genealogy library
in Shreveport?

Explanation: Back in the 1970s, 80s I corresponded
with a lady named Joyce who was (like me) a descendant
of William Baum of Wilkinson County, Mississippi and
Catahoula Parish, Louisiana. She was descended through
his eldest daughter Jeanzy Virginia who married Jacob
Bates Franklin in 1853 in Catahoula Parish.

We exchanged information and I still have several
pages she sent - but would you believe I did not have
the good sense to note the source of that information.
All I remember is her first name was Joyce and she
had an unusual surname. She was either from
Shreveport or nearby. And I believe she had planned
to share her information with the library.

To all of you who are just starting out, take note of
my stupidity. I have pages and pages of information
on different families which may or may not be
correct but since I did not record the source, they
are worthless.

Oh, well, the fun in genealogy is the search.
