The Abadie name is spelled in the older records of Rapides Parish as,
d'Abadie

They owned quite a bit of what became part of the Town of Pineville.
Pineville by 1885 only stretched from the bank of Red River back to the foot
of the hill where Huey P. Long Memorial Hospital's entrance road intersects
Main Street. Oh, the unimproved dirt road continued on through even as early
as 1801, but it was not near as big as we know Main Street or Pineville today.
