The historical Springhill Ward in the 1870 and 1880 censuses is the old name
for the current Ward 4, Rapides Parish. It includes Forest Hill, Glenmora,
McNary, Longleaf and the area west of those communities to the Calcasieu
River. Spring Creek ran through it. There was a Springhill then and I
believe it was nearer Forest Hill than any of the other communities.
