I am looking for any information on
Artemesia Brown Smith Strother

This is all I know:

She is sometimes referred to as
"Missy/Missie" "Artemissy"

She was born circa 1820

She married John A. Strother, Sr. on October 26, 1870, Rapides Parish.

They had one child.
Azariah Columbus Strother b. May 11, 1873 and d. Jan 2, 1933 and buried at New Hope Cemetery in Calcasieu.

I'm told that she died when Azariah was a young boy, but I don't have any documentation to back that up.

Note: John A. Strother was previously married to Eliza Willis and they had 13 children


I would appreciate any information that you have on
Artemesia Brown Smith Strother and John A. Strother, Sr.
