Hello all!

Hope this finds everyone rested and in good spirits after the bulk of the
holidays. My apologies to anyone who may get this more than once; I am
posting it to 3 lists.

Here is my predicament. I am looking for info on my Mom's mother, Evie
(McMILLAN) YOUNG, who died when my Mom was 2 years old. Mom was born in
Shreveport, LA, but her mother was from either Sabine or Vernon Parish - we
aren't sure which. Mom thinks she was from Florien (Sabine Parish), but I
would like to be sure and get the paperwork that would prove where she was
born.

We do know for sure that she died of typhoid at Charity Hospital in
Shreveport in 1933, but Mom has been unable to obtain the death
certificate, and we don't know how to find where she was buried. We think
she married Mom's father somewhere in Sabine or Vernon Parish, but don't
know for sure when. Does anyone know of any good way to get this info? I
suppose I can write to the Health Department in both parishes for birth
records.... But what about lost grave sites or death records that are "out
of reach"?

Thanks for your patience in my beginner questions. Have to start somewhere,
don't I?
