In reference to the weather in 1842- you can email or call 225-578-6870- from a bit of research I found that this department of LSU has a history of weather in the state. other than that I would suggest one of the television stations for Shreveport or even Baton Rouge- WBRZ tv- Also the National Weather Service should have a record of the weather for that period.
