A published index to marriages at Our Lady of the Rosary Catholic Church in Taft, St Charles Parish, LA, includes an entry which probably is that of your great grandparents. On page 280 of the church marriage register for years 1878-1901 is an entry for a "Jos. Maenza" to a "Virginia Michele". A marriage certificate can be obtained from the Archdiocese of New Orleans for a fee. Similarly, baptism certificates of the children from the registers of St John the Baptist Church in Edgard can also be obtained from the archdiocese.

It appears a marriage license also exists as the St Charles Parish civil marriage record index includes an entry in Book 4, page 577, for "Joseph Maiza" to "Verinza Michele". The date is not listed but I believe page 577 would correspond to a year of about 1897. Copies of this marriage record can be obtained for the Clerk of Court at the St Charles Parish Courthouse in Hahnville, LA.
