Hi, all. Out list has been very quiet that past week or so. I borrowed a
copy of the book "Albion's Seed: Four British Folkways in America" by
David Hackett Fischer from our Seattle Library system. They had several
copies. It is a fairly thick book, and probably would command a good
price if purchased new. I don't know if it is available as a paperback.
At any rate, it is a well written and researched book, as I believe
someone on the mail list already remarked. I certainly recommend it for
background reading.
On the subject of research in Ireland, one of the first things I want to
do is gather all information about research that has been done to date --
anything that others are willing to share -- and perhaps write it up for a
newsletter article. What do the rest of you think? Comments? Questions?
Peter Latta in New Foundland has already sent copies of research
done the by Ulster Historical Society that -- copies that his cousin had
obtained at the Latta Plantation in South Carolina.
Thanks for sharing your opinions.
