A couple of thoughts about Mary Lattie married to Samuel Graham in Limestone Co., AL. I have received information from another researcher on the Graham line who thinks that Mary Lattie is Samuel Graham's 2nd wife. My ancestor who was supposed to be Samuel and Mary's son was born abt. 1811 which makes Mary a mighty young mother according to the dates on her tombstone. She was born in 1798. The birthdates of the children range from abt. 1811-1825. Then the last 3 born are 1834, 1835, 1839. Strange that there would be a nine year gap with no kids isn't it and there were nine kids, possibly ten. Cindy, when did James and Nancy move to Limestone Co.? Maybe we need to start looking for a marriage record in surrounding counties for Mary and Samuel. I haven't found one in Limestone Co. Some of the land that Samuel bought was located in Madison Co. Samuel was supposed to be in Washington Co., TN before he came to Limestone Co., AL but so far I've not found any indication th!
at he was there. It looks to me like there is a good possibility that Mary is indeed the 2nd wife. Samuel died about 1839 yet she lived until 1887. That would explain why Mary signed as a Latta in 1833. What do you think?
