Hi Doc Huer,
I do receive email but not a newsletter. I'm not sure I should be a subscriber of the newslatter.
I am always searching for Alexander Meldrum Lattie, born 10 May 1802, St. Andrews, County Fife, Scotland. He was with the Hudson Bay Company before drowning in the Columbia River (Oregon), September 4, 1849. Was the first white bar pilot on the Columbia. ( Native Americans taught him) He was my great great grandfather. He married one of the local Natives, Ce'cust/Sekkus, later baptized Marie Catherine (Elizabeth) Lattie. They had seven children.
His parents were: John and Mary/Helene (Clark) Lattie. He had a brother, James Lattie. I don't have his birth information.
I really don't know anymore about him other from his journal, he must have been a well educated man.
Would you have any suggestions for me? Would you know how you obtain information from old Hudson Bay Records? Is this name familiar to you? Lastly, do you think it might be beneficial to be a subscriber to the newsletter. It seems the surnames are all Latta, not Lattie.
Sorry for so many questions but any advise you can send me will be greatly appreciated.
