Hello Roy -
David Hay & Winefred Pope are my gggGrandparents. I am descended from
their daughter Sarah Ann Hay & William Christmas Heard and their daughter
Mary Isabella Heard & James Robert Fuller.
Recently, I have been in touch with some descendants (see Cc: above) of
David & Winefred and am very eager to correspond with others from this
line. There's so much I don't know - like your statement that David left
Perry Co., AL for Meriwether Co., GA. I'd really like to share all I have
(which isn't much) with everyone and hope they'll reciprocate. Maybe we
can one day find out who the parents of David were!
I didn't find a "Hay-L" list on RootsWeb but if there is enough interest
perhaps we could get one started - I hate to clutter up LAUNION-L with a
lot of "Hay" stuff - or get one started on Onelist.com.
I have the tax record book 1785-1805 for Wilkes County, GA and Tana
(BOTAUS) has sent some from an LDS film up to 1820. And being in surburban
Atlanta, I have access to the GA Archives and I know they have "some stuff"
that is of interest to all of us - I have photocopy of David's marriage
"license" that I got back in the early '80's (that's 1980 folks - ha!) from
some file at the Archives (was a NEWBIE back then). Knowing more now and
having more information I could probably be more productive there. I know
there are Pope files there. (Just hope I "ain't" too old to get down
there). :-)

BTW, I checked FTM CD #226 - Marriage Index: Georgia 1754-1850 for Haska &
Henry and they are not on this CD.
