Mrs. Don Thompson Is First Woman To Swear In Winn Clerk Of Court
C. F. Walsworth of Winnfield was sworn in Wednesday afternoon, June 2, at the
beginning of his sixth consecutive term as Winn Parish Clerk of Court.
Administrating the oath of office was Mrs. Don Thompson, the former Miss Betty
Waller of Winnfield, who is Deputy Clerk of Court and Notary Public. This
marked the first time in the history of Winn Parish that a Clerk of court was
sworn in by a woman.
Mr. Walsworth completed his twentieth year as Winn Parish Clerk of Court on
Monday, May 31. On May 31, 1928, he took over the office for the first time
and has been re-elected every four years since that time.
