L. Clayton Jordan

Services for L. Clayton "Sport" Jordan were held at 10 a.m. Saturday, May 9,
1987 in Big Creek Baptist Church with the Revs. Alson Jeter and Billy Smithart
officiating. Burial was in Jordan Hill Cemetery under direction of Southern,
Winnfield.

Jordan, 69, of Winnfield died at 6:25 p.m. Thursday, May 7, 1987 in LaSalle
General Hospital, Jena, La.

He was a member of Big Creek Baptist Church, a native of Winn Parish, and a
retired employee of Winn Rock, Inc., where he worked for 31 years.

Survivors include his wife, Virginia Shows Jordan of Winnfield; one son, Rick
Jordan of Bridge City, Texas; two daughters, Brenda Provence of Joyce, La.,
and Marsheela Walters of Jena, La.; two sisters, Nancy Lee Waxley and Renda
Johnson, both of Winnfield; and six grandchildren.

Pallbearers were nephews: Randy Shows, Kevin Shows, Thomas Waxley, and Nelson
Young; sons in law Tommy Provence and Reed Walters.

Honorary pallbearers were Elgie Adams, R. W. Daughtry, Donald E. Kelley, and
Eugene F. Love.
