J. P. Kornegay Dead

J. P. Kornegay, 81 years old, died Friday night at his home near Dodson and
was buried at Zion Hill Cemetery.

Mr. Kornegay was born in Kingston, N. C., and saw service in the Confederate
army. He was married to Miss Mary Cobb in 1872, to which union was born
eleven children, nine of whom are living. They are: Walter Kornegay, Dodson;
Mrs. Wirt Walker, Dodson; Mrs. S. B. Price, Shreveport; Mrs. Eric Hall,
Beaumont, Texas; Mrs. James Barnes, Sodus; Mrs. Lawrence Splain, Houston; Dock
Kornegay, Dixie; Miss Maud Kornegay, Monroe; James Kornegay, Ruston.

Mr. Kornegay moved to Dodson in December, 1904, where he lived until 1920 when
he moved to Sodus, La. He resided there a short time before his death when he
came back to Dodson.
