I am trying to discover what happened to my great great grandmother's
siblings. In 1860 the family of John R. and Amanda Bradley is listed in the
census for Winn Parish. I lose the family until 1880 where Amanda is living
with on of her daughters and her husband in Mississippi. The family story is
that Martha (the daughter) named her children after her siblings because her
siblings had died in a family tragedy. Comparing census records I have found
that Martha did name her children after her siblings. Is there anything in
Winn Parish history that would explain the tragedy. An epidemic or a Civil
War battle? Can you help with this mystery?
